REMEMBRANCE DAY

 

  VICTIMS OF KNIFE & GUN CRIME

Eternal Life Support Centre (ELSC) will be hosting a Remembrance Day for guns and knives victims in Southwark and neighbouring Boroughs. 

 

ELSC is a voluntary organisation providing practical support to young people and their families who are experiencing a variety of issues. ELSC’s aim is to reduce crime and re-offending behaviour and re-integrate young people into society by offering practical support to young people to enable them to develop self-confidence. 

 

This is done by providing individualised support to young people and their families to deal with a wide range of issues including gangs, knives violence, drugs, alcohol and homelessness, further education, just to name a few.

 

EVENTS AIMS 

 

  • Remember all those who have lost their lives through guns and knives crime.
  • Raise awareness of the vast amount of death among the young people living in and around neighbouring borough of Southwark.
  • Furthermore it is also to get the community to unite as one, with one voice.
  • Raise funds for a new ELSC centre to provide facilities where perpetrators can be reformed.

PROGRAMME

 

On the day we are aiming to have a variety of acts such as:

  • Dancers,                                              
  • Singers,
  • Speakers,
  • Rappers and poets (names to be confirmed).
  • Live link from various prisons with current prisoners who are serving long term and life sentences for knife and gun related crimes and who have volunteered to speak about the consequences of committing such offences. 
  • Name calling of those who have lost their lives through gun and knife related crime.

1-minute silence in respect of those who have been named.
