Steve Dowdle

Steve Dowdle is Managing Director of all Sony's operations is in the UK and Ireland. He is also MD of Sony United Kingdom sales Company, a position he has held since 2000. His overall responsibility includes a team of over 1500 employees throughout the country.

Steve has been with Sony for 22 years in a variety of roles. He joined Sony UK as a Product Manager, Audio. Successively becoming Group Audio Manager, General Manager National Accounts, Service Director and Marketing Director of the Consumer Products Company.

His early career was spent as a trainee buyer, and then buyer/senior buyer in the retail electronics arena, with Harrods and Rumbelows.

Throughout his Sony career, he has been passionate about people development at all levels in the Company. He has been responsible for a number of major initiatives whose objective was to sponsor, develop and reward talent, but more importantly, sought to release potential in people, who initially, were not obvious candidates for that investment.

Steve is married and has two daughters and a son.
