Amanda McLean

Amanda McLeanAmanda McLean was most recently the Chief Executive of Prostate UK.  She read law at St Hilda’s College, Oxford and has had a variety of posts in the voluntary and education sectors.  This began in 1994 at Action for Children where she was a community fundraiser and includes time at the Windsor Leadership Trust, which she helped to establish in 1995, and London Business School.  Amanda was Director of Fundraising & Communications at DebRA from 2006 to 2008.   Whilst at Prostate UK, Amanda was the Secretary of the Prostate Cancer Charter for Action and acted as an independent advisor and patient advocate to a number of advisory bodies and consultative committees concerned with prostate disease.

She is married to Robert and they have two children, Molly and Henry, who are both at primary school.  A Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), Amanda is also Chairman of her local Parish Council.  In her limited spare time she enjoys cooking and family trips to the north Cornish coast.

Amanda took up her position as Chief Executive of the Institute of Fundraising on 1st November 2010.
