Frank's Story (told by Jennifer Blake from the ELSC)

A Project based in Peckham

Frank is a young single man. In 2004 Frank was involved in an incident that resulted in him being stabbed in his stomach. Frank went through an ordeal and ended up with a Colostomy bag for 9 months.

This left Frank bitter and revengeful. Before this incident Frank was involved in criminal activities that often led to him being arrested or in confrontation with peers.

A friend recommended Frank to Eternal Life Support Centre (ELSC). On his first appointment Frank was able to be very open and expressed his anger towards society. Frank began attending the programme in March 2006 and Claude Murray became his mentor. I began to counsel Frank and encouraged him to attend all his sessions.

Frank began to make life changes and has begun to change the way he thinks. Which, until recently had always negative. This in itself has been an investment to the development of our strategic plans, which we employ to enable these young people in their efforts to steer away from crime and other forms of anti-social behaviour.

Frank is creative in the way that he writes lyrics. On the 28th March 2006 we held a group session to enable young people on the program to get together. Frank performed by rapping about his incident, which led him to perform at the ministry of sound to mark the death of Damiola Taylor who was also stabbed.

Franks life has changed for the better and he is know looking forward to a wonderful future and the chance to change the lives of other young people.
